Predator Control Project Report for 2003 through 2005
This project was carried out by Wildlife Services in conjunction with the Whiskey Mountain Bighorn Sheep Technical Committee consisting of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, USDA Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. Major financial support was provided by the Wyoming Chapter of the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep.
Over the three years of the project, a total of 127 coyotes were removed from the Whiskey Mountain/East Fork areas. Of the total, 68 were killed in the Whiskey Mountain Bighorn Sheep Herd Unit and 59 were killed in the Franc’s Peak Bighorn Sheep Herd Unit.

Whiskey refers to bighorn sheep winter range outside of USDA Forest Service designated wilderness areas. Wilderness refers to the Fitzpatrick Wilderness Area, and East Fork refers to all areas north of U. S. Highway 26 in the Franc’s Peak Bighorn Sheep Herd Unit.
