SUMMARY:Dubois Invasive Species Watch: Volunteer Training!
DESCRIPTION:Dubois Invasive Species Watch is a Citizen Science Project to help land managers identify the extent of invasive species in the area surrounding Whiskey Basin Wildlife Habitat Management Area. Bighorn sheep are a community-wide iconic wildlife species that depends heavily on intact winter range and migration corridors. Rapidly responding to invasive species infestations will help maintain habitat for this and other wildlife species in the area. This project is a great way for YOU as volunteers to get involved in hands-on\, applicable citizen science that impacts our wildlife! \nThis volunteer training “brown bag lunch” session will be held over zoom on Thursday\, May 28th at 12pm. We will provide an overview of the project\, demonstrate how to upload and use iNaturalist\, identify key weeds with the group and demonstrate how to add an observation for the Dubois Invasive Species Watch project. This training will be hosted by the National Bighorn Sheep Center with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and iNaturalist. \nParticipants must register by emailing sara@bighorn.org or by calling 307-455-3429. Zoom login information will be provided to all registered participants.
