SUMMARY:Archeology in Bighorn Habitat with Larry Todd\, PhD
DESCRIPTION:This will be a captivating Zoom session hosted by NBSC and Larry Todd explaining the ancient connection between bighorns and the Mountain Shoshone. Learn about sheep traps\, soapstone use\, and a way of life that is but a humbling story for most to listen to. \nLarry Todd (BA\, University of Wyoming; MA\, PhD\, University of New Mexico) is Professor Emeritus in Anthropology at Colorado State University\, Research Fellow in Anthropology at the University of Texas\, Austin\, and Adjunct Professor in Anthropology at University of Wyoming.  A native of Meeteetse\, Wyoming\, where he now lives\, Todd has conducted archaeological fieldwork on the Great Plains and Rocky Mountains for nearly 50 years with much of his research focusing on taphonomy of bison kill sites.  Since 2002\, Todd splits his time between researching early human paleoecology in NW Ethiopia and prehistoric montane/alpine land use in N.W Wyoming. \nImportant Zoom Informationhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/86877534904?pwd=ODkzVTlYYjI1TW16VmVaSHpUY2VUUT09Meeting ID: 868 7753 4904\nPasscode: 650711
